Butterfly Release

Last week, we released our butterflies in the fifth grade garden.

Our little ones observed caterpillars for two weeks and recorded data into their science journals. We learned about the lifecycle of a butterfly, how to take care of a caterpillar, and why we have to release the butterflies into their natural habitat. It was such an amazing experience to watch the caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies.

Math-A-Coaster

We are so sad to see this year come to an end but are so proud of our mathematicians. They have truly grown over the year and we are amazed by the progress we have seen. Please stop by and see their math work over time outside of our classroom. You will be able to see four math problems that each student worked on in August, January, and April. The strategies they have learned to use are out of this world! Way to go!!!

It truly has been a fun ride! We will miss you all.

Chickens on the loose

Thank you so much to the fifth graders who let us see their precious chickens today. This is a memory our second graders will cherish forever.

Critter Project

This nine weeks, students have been learning about life cycles and habitats in science. Students were asked to create a critter that would be able to blend into its surroundings. They hid their critters and a mysterious predator was asked to come in and find them. The mysterious predator had the hardest time finding our critters. Way to go creative scientists!!

Can you find the hidden critters below?
